This is a fair weather entry level boat that competes with the Yamaha SeaCat 16 range and the Kozi Cat 16 range. The Sodwana Cat 16 is a very spacious cat and has been designed very well. New features on the boat include a live-bait well that is now standard as well as an integrated fishing rod stack holder and a set of drawers for tackle and traces.

I tested this boat recently and I am in the process of getting one for myself. The boat handles very nicely and surprisingly the 2 x 40 hp Mercury’s was more than enough power, I would however recommend that you buy the trim and tilt motors. The cable steering on the boat is adequate. The boat is ideal for two to three fishermen and is light enough to handle anywhere.
